The National Coach and VISTA of the Year recipients represent the dedication, passion, and commitment that drive meaningful change for young people and the organizations they serve.

2026 National Coach of the Year Recipient: Jordan Ashmore

Samuel J. Green Charter School | New Orleans, LA

Coach Jordan Ashmore has transformed the student-athlete experience at Samuel J. Green Charter School by showing young people that success extends far beyond the playing field. Through his leadership, mentorship, and commitment to youth development, Jordan has helped students build confidence, improve engagement, and connect the lessons learned through sports with success in the classroom.

His impact has been especially meaningful in expanding opportunities for girls in athletics. By building strong basketball and flag football programs, Jordan has helped elevate female student-athletes and create a culture where every young person feels empowered to participate, grow, and succeed.

2026 National VISTA of the Year Recipient: Nicolette Caneda

Strong Girls United | York, ME

Nicolette Caneda made a lasting impact during her year of service with Strong Girls United by helping strengthen the organization’s capacity to expand opportunities for girls in sports. Through her leadership on the #RunforHer Marathon Program, Nicolette advanced community engagement, donor outreach, and strategic communications while building systems and resources to support long-term growth.

With creativity, collaboration, and a relationship-focused approach, Nicolette helped enhance the runner experience, strengthen partnerships, and position Strong Girls United for continued success.
